Mat the go pedal and it takes a few beats to get its house in order - the transmission kicks down a couple of gears, the turbos start huffing up to 18.9 psi of boost, then wham! Riding on standard forged 22-inch alloys, the big-gun GLE bellows down the road courtesy of AMG’s fabulous 4.0 L bi-turbo “hot-vee” V8 that kicks out a prodigious 603 horses, 629 lb-ft, and a soundtrack for the ages. The real AMG experience, however, is found in the GLE 63 S.
